Healthy Pain Remedies, Let's Talk About it!

I've struggled with chronic pain this last week. TMJ is another health issue I have and when it is at it's worst, I wake up very early each morning with severe jaw, neck, and head pain. I've tried mouth guards, exercises, and lots of over-the-counter pain medications. I don't like taking pain medicine every day so yesterday I tried some natural remedies that I was thankful, worked. I had been using Deep Relief Essential Oils from Young Living, but I ran out of it and it is currently out of stock. So I used Peppermint Oil around my jaw and temple area and that combined with some green tea and The Miracle Ball Method, did the trick.

The Miracle Ball Method is promising to me as I continue to use it. It involves learning to breathe deeply, something I struggle to do.  I am an anxious person by nature and breathing deep is not something I do naturally. Most people do not use their diaphragm when breathing, but like me, breathe short breaths through their chest which does not give your body and brain the oxygen it needs. Using two small Medicine Balls, the little book covers several exercises geared to your area of pain. It helps relax muscle tension and make you become aware of the weight of your body and how that affects you. It's a discipline to learn to relax for me and to take the time to do the exercises but pain is a great motivator so I took quite a bit of time for it yesterday and was impressed that it worked. I want to continue to make it a part of my daily or at least, weekly routine.

Pain also motivates me to eat healthy so I made this for breakfast and it was delicious!

I can eat healthy if it tastes good. I added lots of chopped cilantro and chopped green onions and garlic for flavor and egg whites for protein. I used my Norwex Fruit and Veggie Cloth to clean all the produce with just water.

I scrubbed my carrots with it and was hoping I would not have to peel them as I have seen demonstrations like that, but I thought my carrots looked a little dirty still so I did peel them after scrubbing them, but the rest of the produce I just used the cloth to clean them.

So I would love to hear what natural remedies work for you? What are some of your favorite healthy dishes?
